Nothing Comes Easy...

What a weekend! My boys put on a awesome show Saturday...never to disappoint. That's a different blog, because the events of Saturday really require 2 separate entries. The first being the Odyssey of a trip we took just to get to KC.

We Need What?!?!?!

Went to bed late on Friday night and the AM came pretty quickly, but that's alright because I knew what the night was gonna bring. Finishing up packing and spot checking the pre-ride hair and my phone buzzes with texts from my sister. Her fiance was AWESOME and helped us buy the 5-star tickets for the meet and greet. The sign of true love is a guy who will go through the pains of ordering these tickets with two highly anxious need to be in control kind of girls. I've purchased the tickets the last 2 times and have always pretty much taken the lead on what I needed to get done to get to where we needed to be. With that said, the text sent to me Saturday basically said we didn't have one of the most important things you need when you get to the pre-show...the confirmation. After a few phone calls and a little help from previous experiences in ordering the tickets, we got it figured out...the paper printed and we were on the road.

Road Construction...REALLY?

Three hours is the typical drive to KC...not a bad since its a pretty straight shot most of the way until you get into KC. I used to live in Lenexa (right outside of KC) and so I knew how to get there, but we didn't bring the GPS that would've helped us get to our hotel and the Sprint Center. "We got this..." is what I kept telling myself. Plenty of time until we landed in the middle of some heavy duty construction for about 45 minutes. All was good, if we got to the hotel at 3 it would give us about a hour to finish getting ready for the show. My dad gave us the directions and once the traffic cleared we were on our way!
Riiiiight...
Heaven Sent Angel...with a GPS!

So somewhere in the directions we took a wrong turn in what I would say is not some of the best off the road sight seeing areas. Sitting at a fork in the road my sister waves this older gentleman down and asks him if he knew where the hotel was located. He was out of town, but he said he would plug it into the GPS. We thought he was just going to give us directions, but he said just to follow him and he was lead us there. THANK GOD for this heaven sent man for helping us...otherwise I have no idea where this story would be going right now...probably further into the bad parts of KC and a liquor store!

Get This Party Started...WTF Lady Are You Kidding Me Right Now?

I may have take a xanax just to finish typing this part. After driving around the Sprint Center and finding our parking garage and then finding the wrong VIP group...and then finding the RIGHT VIP group well after 4 PM (when we had to be there)....we meet a new angelic face. I'll remind you that these tickets were a gift from my sister's fiance...so in order to make sure we could get in he called days in advance and they told him to send a paper copy of his license along with the confirmation and we would be able to get in without him. Please please tell that to dragon lady apparently running the show! She looks at us and says "I don't have anything on my paper about a name change. The main office calls me with any changes like that and if I don't get that call then we just can't do it." Are...you...serious? She was a witch no doubt, but in all honesty I wasn't mad at her. She has a job to do and I get that...I do. But REALLY? As my sister explained to them that he called in order to have this ready when we got here and tried to convince them to talk to him on the phone...I had to walk away before I had a breakdown. In haze, I do remember saying "So your main office f*#@ed up and you are saying for that we can't go in." And then I went and sat down and prayed as hard as I could for divine intervention. She asked us to stay to the side while she finished being rude the other late comers and I heard her say "I just don't understand how people are late to this." I didn't say anything, but I was like "You have no idea..." Out loud I thought..."I spent $83 on a shirt with rhinestones clearly meant for tonight's show and I am being told I can't go into a concert we already paid for..."  I couldn't even listen to her as she told everyone they needed to hurry, because time was running out and then she said "Ok girls, if you'll step back over here."  ***ANGELS SINGING***
